Our Second Saturday looked a little something like this!
Sunday March 8, 2020
McCreary County, KY
Our second Saturday was an adventure to remember!
My guests for this adventure trip was my daughter, Damia and her girlfriend Hannah! We set out on a sunny Sunday morning to explore the beautiful Mc Creary County which is one of the most beautiful places in the entire state of Kentucky! The temperature was around 65 degrees, give or take a few degrees. It was about an hour and a half drive from Lexington but the sun was shining bright, and we were excited for a day trip adventure! Princess Falls was our destination, which has been on my bucket list for a long while now.
As we began at the trail head, we learned we had a little over a mile hike to our destination, Princess Falls. We walked along Lick Creek and the beautiful colors we’re awe-striking. The water of Lick Creek had a blue/green hue and the sky was bright blue. The brown of the trees was gorgeous with the colors of the water and sky!
As we walk closer to the waterfall, our problems and everyday worries began to fade away. We were being submersed into the beauty of nature, and she seems to make everything better.
We knew we were in for a treat. We eventually came to a bridge but we were instructed to veer off to the right, following the small trail that lead to Princess Falls. The bridge was crossing over Lick Creek and we can’t help but get excited that it will be a perfect place to PLAY once the weather warms up a bit! We will definitely be going back!
If you haven’t been to Princess Falls it’s a guaranteed treat! If you to continue your adventure you can also visit Lick Creek Falls, which is across the bridge if you decide you want a longer hike. I’ve been to Lick Creek Falls and you won’t be disappointed if you go! I saw Lick Creek Falls by starting at the Ranger Station Trail Head. It’s a pretty long hike, but absolutely breathtaking.
We will let our photo collection do the rest of the talking for this Into The Wild: Kentucky Wilderness & Waterfall Adventure Time!
I encourage you to find adventures in your own back yard! Kentucky is one of the most beautiful states and we have never ending trails, waterfalls and fun waiting for you! To find this waterfall, visit the AllTrails app or http://www.kywaterfalls.com
